Appearance

• Around 5 cm high carpet in purple-red to brownish red, or a compact bush in the fore- or middle ground.

Growth rate

• It prefers medium to high light intensities, generally in the range of 0.4 to 1 watt per liter.

Placement

• Can be placed in the foreground or mid-ground of an aquarium. Its compact size makes it suitable for both small and large aquariums. For smaller tanks, it can be a foreground plant, while in larger tanks, it can be placed in the mid-ground.

Planting

• Use aqua scaping tweezers to gently insert the base of each stem into the substrate, spacing them a few centimeters apart (around 1.5 inches) to allow for light and growth.

Algae

• Alternanthera reineckii is susceptible to algae growth, so maintaining a clean tank with stable parameters is important.
