Ludwigia Arcuta

• Generally an easy background aquarium plant to grow
• CO2 injection is not required for the cultivation of this plant, but can help it grow more robustly

Appearance

• A beautiful plant with delicate green and red leaves. Needle leaf plants have thin, pointed leaves that grow in opposite pairs along the whole length of the stem. The leaves can be green or red depending on the amount of iron available in the water. If pruned frequently, this plant will branch out and provide a bushy filler.

Growth rate

• Has a moderate to fast growth rate. It can grow several centimeters per day in optimal conditions.

Lighting

• Light is crucial for the growth and development of Ludwigia Arcuata. Provide your plants with moderate to high-intensity lighting for at least 8-10 hours a day.

Placement

• Midground Placement:

  In smaller tanks, Ludwigia arcuata's fine texture makes it suitable for the midground, where it can create a vibrant contrast with other plants or a dark background.
• Background Placement:
• In larger tanks, it can be used as a background plant, adding depth and color to the aquascape.
• Creating Bushes:
• Planting stems close together (about 1.5cm apart) initially will encourage them to grow vertically and create a bushier appearance.

Planting

• Remove any nutrient gel or debris from the plant before planting.
• Choose a suitable location
• Nutrient-rich substrate is recommended for optimal growth and color development.
• Plant the stems using aqua scaping tweezers to carefully insert them into the substrate.
• Plant Ludwigia arcuata in groups of at least 6 stems for a more visually appealing and natural look.
• Plant the stems closely together, about 1.5cm apart initially, to encourage vertical growth.

Algae

• Algae problems with Ludwigia arcuata often arise from imbalances in CO2, lighting and nutrient levels, such as nitrates, which can cause the plant to become less vibrant and more prone to algae attachment.
